Apply for school year 2020-21 at http://go.cps.edu/how-to-apply/elementary-school Frazier International Magnet School is a non-selective enrollment magnet school. As such, no testing or pre-requisites are necessary for admission. The only requirements for admission are that the prospective student lives in the city of Chicago and that he or she will be eligible to enter Kindergarten through eighth grade.
Frazier International utilizes a random lottery system provided by the Office of Academic Enhancement. If more applications are received than there are open positions for students, the computerized system randomly selects students who will be offered positions in the upcoming class. If acceptance and registration forms are not returned in a timely manner, the offers for admission expire and will be offered to students on the waiting list.
We typically receive about four applications for each opening, so there is almost always a waiting list. In grades above Kindergarten, there are only a few openings each year because of families who have moved out of the city or to distant parts of the city. For the 2019-2020 school year we currently have openings in grades K-2!
Transportation to our school is typically provided to students who reside more than 1.5 miles and less than 6 miles from the school. As always, bus transportation provisions and policies are subject to change by the Chicago Board of Education.
